This file is here after an exchange of files between the 3 main fan-websites about Code Lyoko at the time of the season 4. Codelyoko.net gave this file, codelyokodreamers proposed the file with the links between Code Lyoko and Matrix while codelyoko.fr proposed its file about Tron !
The end of the season 4 sinked all the sites in a more or less deep lethargy which is why this file arrived a little bit late on our website !

Introduction
In the episode 73, Replika, Jeremy understands that the Lyoko's replicas created by XANA can only exist because they are managed by Supercomputers split up into the world, and controled by XANA. Conscious that these Supercomputers are probably not equipped with scanners, Jeremy decides to create a program able to send his friends in the real world from a Replika, near its Supercomputer, with the goal to destroy these computers and, sooner or later, defeat XANA.
A-The Process
Spoiler
I-Working
It's only in the episode 78, Lab Rat, that he achieves it. The program, named «teleportation» bu its designer, seems inspired by the method used by XANA since the season 1 to attack on Earth. The operation takes place in this way.
The Skidbladnir piloted by Aelita reaches a Replika and infiltrates it. Arrived at the reproduced Lyoko Sector, it must be «linked» or «stowed» to a tower for Jeremy can have the access to it, the Skid being the go-between to the Supercomputer.
Connected to this tower of Replika, Jeremy activates it ; and, once the tower activated, he sends one or many specters near the Supercomputer managing the Replika (within a radius of 100 meters around, obviously). These specters, at the opposite of the ones we had the habit to see in the series, don't contain informations for a precise task, but the digital datas (visibly converted into electric signals), of the Lyoko-warriors thus teleported, and having the look these ones have on Lyoko. To sum up, the Lyoko-warriors are sent on Earth with the look of polymorphic specters. This implies two things. At first, the only datas sent in the specter are the heroes' one on Lyoko, and not the ones from the scanners : the episodes loke Code Earth or Lab Rat teach us in a tacit way that during the virtualization, the datas are in two «places». There are the ones from the scanners, used during the rematerialization, which contain the composition and the exact structure of the body passed in the scanner, and the ones in the «video game» which is Lyoko, and which contain at the same time the informations about the Avatars, powers and weapons, and the ones about the «mind», for lack of a better term, of the heroes. Because only these datas are used for the teleportation, the heroes have, during the teleportation, their look on Lyoko.
II-Interest
The main interest of the teleportation, we said it, is the reason of why Jeremy made this program : to go on Earth from the Network to destroy the Supercomputers ; however, still on this goal, the teleportation has multiple advantages : when a Lyoko-warrior is teleported, he/she has the strength and the speed of a classic polymorphic specter, but he/she also has the weapons the Supercomputer gave him/her on Lyoko : indeed, the datas sent to the specters also have weapons, like Odd's arrows or Ulrich's sabres. Moreover, the teleported ones keep, during their mission on Earth, the contact with Jeremy who, with locating them, can as well locate the zone where they are, most of the time well guarded, and obtain a map, to guide the heroes in the maze that mostly represent these secret bases and laboratories moved into by XANA.
It also happens that during these missions, the Lyoko-warriors are attacked by xanatified people (or polymorphic specters, we don't really know), robots, or XANA's monsters ; which case their weapons are at least useful.
III-Limits
However, the teleportation is limited by many factors. We well imagine that, in the opposite occur, it would be too easy. Firstly, the teleportation is limited in time : in the episode 78, we learn that the Lyoko-warriors only have around fifteen minutes to destroy the Supercomputer in the base of Amazonia, duration that Jeremy obviously lengthened, but probably not to the infinite. We can suppose it's due to the «fragility» of these specters, itself due to their complexity of which it is imaginable that makes them a little bit unsteady (like the chemical elements which have a number of nucleons too important, and are radioactives), unlike the ones sent by XANA, usually. Always about this question of stability, like on Lyoko, when they are violently hit a certain amount of times, they are automaticly unteleported. The same goes for the tower activated by Jeremy which is deactivated (or rather activated for XANA) by William who types the Code XANA like Aelita types the Code Lyoko. It doesn't unplugs the Skid of the tower, but the tower not managing the teleported anymore, they are unteleported. In both cases, the ex-teleported are back to the Skid, sometimes kncked out, sometimes for a long time (probably for the same reasons as they left the scanner, but it appears in a different way, because we pass from the real world to a virtual environment).
Nevertheless, it is more cumbersome that the Skid is destroyed : in that case, the teleported Lyoko-warriors disappeared probably purely and simply, as for the ones who are not in submarine and fight to protect it, the devirtualization will cost them their life, for lack of relay between the Replika and the Supercomputer. That's why only two Lyoko-warriors are teleported at the same time, while the two others are busy with preventing the monsters to destroy the Skidbladnir, and William to enter in the tower. Aelita also tries to deactivate the one activated by XANA to spread pitfalls on the way of the teleported near the Supercomputer.
We can also wonder why during an unteleportation, the Lyoko-warriors are back in the submarine and not in the sccaners : in actual fact, that's like the others specters. The datas are sent by XANA to the towers, and go out in the real world in the form of waves, or electric signals. The difference, for the teleportation, is that the datas are in the Skidbladnir, linked to the tower. Why do the avatars disappear ? Well, because they were no need at this moment. And if the datas stop being transmitted permanently, the Avatar reappears, the datas of the Lyoko-warriors stored in the Skidbladnir coming back into it.
B-Appendices
Spoiler
I-Big thrills
The first thing to note in appendix to this article about the teleportation is that, in the episode 78, Lab Rat, we notice that, because of the fact that the heroes are on Earth, even with their Lyoko-warriors' outfits, they have sensations : we see, in Lab Rat, Odd complaining about the pain caused by the return of his arrows, and, in the following episode, his hair doffing the hat and his outfit ripped when the explosion of the generator happens. We can imagine that the teleportation is, especially for Odd, who has 8 fingers, a tail and ears, something painful, and that there's only their nature of boosted specters which give that resilience to them ; however, we can understand that during a unteleportation, they might be in a state of substantial tiredness, which immobilizes them on Lyoko (should we conclude that it's what could happen if someone was virtualized twice in a row ? Or would it be even worse, but in the same idea ? In both cases, it's dangerous, we know it).
II-XANA and the teleportation
Since the episode 83, Hard Luck, XANA also uses the teleportation, to send Kankrelats against the heroes. We can wonder on the reason why it didn't do that before, even just to send them on the non-teleported heroes, on Earth. Two hypotheses : either it didn't see the use of it, knowing that the Supercomputer is equipped with scanners, or Jeremy gave it the idea and, maybe, the means. It's not because XANA is a program that he knows how to do everything. It learns, and maybe that not only it had never thought we could do that, but furthermore, it didn't know how to do without Jeremy gave it the means. Jeremy would play a dangerous game, and the «well symbolic irony», of which I will have the occasion to talk about later, could give XANA the necessary ideas to put the heroes in trouble !
III-Aspect of the teleported Lyoko-warriors
As seen higher, the teleported Lyoko-warriors have the same look than on Lyoko… More or less : firstly, we can notice some graphic differences (color of Ulrich's headband, Yumi's make-up, Aelita's ears, absence of Kiwi's logo on Odd's chest) ; it is reasonable to attribute this to a fantasy of the drawers, but we can interpret it in a scenaristic way by a spontaneous evolution of the avatars on the occasion of the teleportation, an «emergent property», which translates into a less significant phenomenom.
Secondly, the drawers keep remembering us that the Specters are made out of electricity : when a Lyoko-warrior is hit, he/she «bugs» : he/she becomes blurred and seems to dissipate, and vibrates like if the screen freezes ; and, above all, like if the specter was trying as best as he/she can to keep his/her cohesion, task that, we saw higher, he/she doesn't achieve at the long term. Moreover, the weapons and powers of the heroes are retranscribed «as possible» : Odd's laser arrows have, like Aelita's force fields, a very electric aspect, at the opposite of the look they have on Lyoko. As for the sabres and fans, given that they are «permanent» objects, they have the same look as on Lyoko. These graphic modifications renders the idea , not always evident in the other seasons that the specters really are electric ; and that, consequently, the term of «specter» is a misuse of language, for lack of a better word (except in the electromagnetic meaning of the term, which case the term is more exact).
IV-Powers ?
These considerations lead us right to the last point of this first appended : the powers : we saw the weapons of the heroes on Earth, but they never used their powers, except Aelita (we'll come back to it later). How to explain it ? Well simply by the fact that the reproduction on Earth of these powers is impossible. The telekinesis more than the others, by the way. If the Triplicate or the Creativity seems so fanciful, the telekinesis is just about impossible, unless if we compare the effect of this power to a magnet, in any case, clearly less precise. The creativity, well, it wouldn't be unacceptable that Aelita creates extensions of her own specter to form objects, but it goes away from the basic power. As for the Triplicate, difficult, isn't it ?
In contrast, Aelita has a power known as «digital». Explicable. But there are, here too, many hypotheses. The most plausible being the one which brings in the symbolism of the creativity. In the season 1, Aelita develops this power as a program fighting against XANA. Also she is in a position to interact with Lyoko, and to create landscapes on Lyoko (so to program them) from the inside. On Earth, this power which has continued even after the loss of status of «program» translates by a possibility of interaction with what is computer, so the name of «digital power». We can also think that it's a emergent property of the teleportation's specter (yeah, in Code Lyoko, we love that word), but we also might wonder how Aelita did to guess she could do it. The most plausible is to think that this «power» is linked with the real nature of the creativity, which is not the same that the nature of the powers of the others Lyoko-warriors.
Conclusion
Spoiler
Conclusion : A well symbolic irony
We all remember these three pictures : a green tower which the Skidbladnir is stowed, specters sent on Earth to wreck everything, and a William under the control of XANA who deactivates the tower with typing, at the second floor, the Code XANA with a remix of the musical theme of Aelita in the tower. Curious reversal of the situation, isn't it ?
During three seasons, it was the opposite. XANA activated a tower, sent a specter on Earth, and the Code Lyoko was typed in the tower activated by Aelita. In the settings of the teleportation, it's Jeremy who attacks XANA, with activating a tower, and sending his friends in the form of specters to attack it. There is here two points to raise.
Firstly, the really particular nature of the season 4, which is partially an offensive nature : the heroes are themselves in a frame of mind due to a less stagnant situation than is the seasons 2 and 3 which were characterized by either the absence of a goal, or a goal too abstract to prevent a certain lassitude which, because of its concrete goal, didn't exist in the season 1. In the season 4, the goal is to bring William back, and to defeat XANA. For this, they had to travel and, yet, to fight. The goal is concrete, and it's seen in the frame of mind of the heroes.
Secondly, how to interpret this occasional reversal of the general situation ? I think it is a scenaristic way to show the viewers that if the heroes are going to defeat XANA, it's because of the experience they had learned them things, and pushed them to evolve, too. The teleportation is a way for the heroes to say to XANA «Now, we are as strong as you», even if it isn't really true. In any series, there is this kind of initiatory journey when the heroes are humans and, all the more so, young ones. This initiatory journey, in addition to symbolise the way to the adulthood, highlights notions that we understand, in the situation of the season 4, that it was compulsory for the heroes to acquire, to become more powerful, and, more precisely, enough to defeat XANA.
