Spoiler
Tyron received countless names. He was originally called, in the very first PDF of Code Lyoko Evolution, Alan Meyer. But as this PDF was leaked on the Internet, the name has been changed a first time. Therefore, he has been named Ikonov (name he kept in the official summaries of the episodes). However, that new name was copyrighted for another fictional universe. So the name changed a last time to become Tyron.

Spoiler
Appearing very late in the story, Tyron is a new element in the mysterious past of Franz Hopper, Aelita’s father. During this new conflict against XANA, he is, for the heroes, the new villain… and for the first time, it’s not XANA… wow, that’s new ! But is this really that simple ?
We now know that Tyron doesn’t know anything about XANA in his Supercomputer (Episode 16 : Confusion). That’s why, when he upgrades it, Xana can’t activate towers properly which leads the IA to turn against the scientist… temporarily.
Knowing that new data, Tyron is actually rather a victim. Indeed, he doesn’t know who are or where come from the avatars pirating his computer from the virtual world. However, that doesn’t mean he’s all good and joy, but that justifies his reaction : he only defends the Cortex from its intruders.
By the way, that’s the first time the heroes have a human foe. Plus the fact that’s a triangle in the war between him, XANA and the Lyoko-Warriors, we have a very interresting and original concept in the series.
In the end , there’s still many mysteries about Tyron.

Spoiler
Even if Tyron is only protecting his world from the Warriors, he’s far from being an angel. He’s immediately presented as a selfish traitor. He indeed first appears in the video of his argument with Franz Hopper in which it’s said he was one of his old employees. According to Hopper, Tyron didn’t follow his instructions and betrayed him by stealing his plans, to use them for personal usage. (Episode 7 Countdown)
Tyron’s hostile nature is then revealed as he called Hopper naive behind his back with a nasty look. And as Tyron, years later, built an almost identical supercomputer to Hopper’s, we can say that he indeed made usage of the plans for himself.
We learn more about Tyron during his confrontation by webcam with the Warriors (Episode 16 Confusion). The professor happens to be someone very arrogant and conceited. He doesn’t like people forgetting about his title of professor, think he’s the master of his world and can control everything on it… and moreover, he refuses to admit there’s an evil IA in his Supercomputer without him knowing it. We can there see again his condescension, like when he called Hopper a « little man without ambition ».
However, Tyron’s nature is even more perverted. He doesn’t hesistate to threaten the heroes’ lives, even though he perfectly knows they’re just teenagers. The first time, he tries to definitely virtualize Yumi and Aelita using the Ninjas (Episode 16). The second time, he shuts down his Supercomputer then the Lyoko-Warriors are still in the Cortex, to force them to flee and even makes them fall in the Digital Sea if they’re too slow (Episode 26 : Ultimate Mission). Let’s not forget about their capture and imprisonement in the time loop (Episode 24 Temporal Paradox).
He doesn’t hestitate either to use illegitime ways by ordering his driver to hold Yumi to get infomation.
In the end, the best adjective for Tyron may be « determined ». Treachery on Hopper, extermination of the heroes, virtalization of the Ninjas with his employees on his virtual world, nothing stops him to get what he wants.
He’s even manipulator since he tries to blackmail Aelita : if the young girl doesn’t stop her plans about detroying the Cortex, he promises her, she’ll never see her mother again. Since he talks about his wife and his step-daughter, this clearly proves his lack of humanity.
Even if his behavior seems… radical, Tyron has some qualities after all. His genius is not Hopper’s but he’s not far behind. Tyron managed to build a similar Supercomputer. Its capacity to manipulate time-space proves it has more or less the same calibre as the Warriors’. He also elaborated the Cortex, a virtual world, probably as complex as Lyoko. Finally, even if he doesn’t have any scanners, he developped an alternative virtualization process which allows, with people wearing a special suit, to make Ninjas appear in the Cortex.
He’s a brillant researcher in quatum physics. We ignore his real objectives, as well as his motivations. He’s also a hard worker since we always see him in his lab, looking for a way to defend the Cortex from the Lyoko-Warriors. In a very small amount of time, he managed to upgrade several times his virtual world, as Jeremy notices (Episode 16 Confusion and 26 Ultimate Mission).
In a nutshell, we can say that Tyron is a villain as great as XANA who follows his own objectives.

Spoiler
Tyron isn’t passive on the Virtual World. On the contrary, he’s kinda the Jeremy of the other side and the operator of his own interests. He however lacks some elements from the start. Jeremy just happened to find the Supercomputer, with the scanners and virtualization process all ready while Tyron used his for research. He had no need to go there physically before.
When the Warriors begin to arrive, Tyron detects them. He elaborates in a record time, a way to get in. With a bodysuit, he can send people on the Cortex with the form of Ninjas. You can find more information of that process on the Ninja’s page.
Tyron gave his Ninjas many abilities : ray to definitely virtualize, invisibilty, abilty to merge with the walls or the ground, ability to survive in the Digital Sea. You can also find more info in the page mentionned above.
Even if he’s often there to oversee the Ninja’s actions, they can perfectly doing well alone as they have a lone mission : to kick the Lyoko-Warrior out of the Cortex.
Tyron looks after the Cortex, in the same way Jeremy does for Lyoko, mainly the Dome where the interface lies. Jeremy, however, beats him on that field as he’s been tricked several times by the young genius (Episode 18 Tenacity and 20 Espionage).
Tyron’s objective is to localize the heroes. For that, he sets a trap in which the Warrior easily fall (Episode 14 : Intrusion). He hides some false data in the interface that the Warriors blindly steal. As the Skid comes back, a Ninja sent by Tyron, takes advantage of the journey to come in Lyoko and place a beacon in Sector 5 ; This beacon will give a more and more accurate location of the Supercomputer. That beacon is also very well defended since each time the Lyoko-Warriors try to destroy it, it sends a very powerful shockwave. Unfortunately for Tyron, the heroes find a way to get rid of it.
That doesn’t mean he gives up. He learns soon how to activate the Towers of the Cortex and then lure the Warriors in a new trap (Episode 24 : Temporal Paradox). He uses then the tower to imprison the Warriors into a time loop which makes them live again and again a moment from their very morning… and which indicates the position of the factory once again ! Jeremy manages to stop Tyron’s plan just in time.
These are many examples proving that Tyron is a real expert in virtual worlds. Even though Jeremy has more experience, he managed to trick him several time but the genius always counters the plan eventually.
That’s even surprising that with such skills, Tyron never detected XANA even after the IA’s attack on the Core in the Episode 16 Confusion.

Spoiler
We only know Tyron’s story by little bits and some could be lies.
Lowel Tyron was a fellow employee of Professor Hopper. He betrayed the latter’s trust by stealing some plans, apparently the Supercomputer’s ones. Therefore, he was fired by Hopper.
What happens next is kinda surprising since the two men vanished. We know that Hopper virtualized himself and Aelita on Lyoko from where he never came back, but Tyron disappeared on the 25th June 2003 for a decade.
When he reappears, situation has really changed for him. He used Hopper’s plans to build his own Supercomputer. From there, he elaborated his own virtual world : the Cortex.
Professionally, things seems to be well for Tyron since he’s the boss of a big consortium which includes the buildings of his Supercomputer, a research center on the Physics of particles. He also seems to have a lot of people under his orders (Graven, his driver, the people who shut down his Supercomputer, the guys who virtualize as Ninjas,…). We don’t know if his researchs are whether or not limited to quantum physics (if so, why did he officially disappear ?) or if there are some other secrets behind his actions.
And finally, in the relationship field, things are kinda ironical since he apparently remarried Anthea Hopper 4 years before… his former boss’s wife.
2013 will be the year of disruptive events.
Without him knowing anything, XANA, a powerful IA, takes refuge in his Supercomputer. The Lyoko-Warriors come after XANA sand begin to investigate in the Cortex.
From Tyron’s point of view, the only event he notices is regular intrusions on his machine. So, he tries by different means to get rid of these virtual avatars who keep delving into his interface. He creates Ninjas, he tries to localize them, he tries to eliminate them, to trap them… but his opponents always seem to find a way out in the very last minute.
Tyron then receives a mail from them. Following a discussion in the Cortex ; Two of the avatars try to convince him that his machine is infected by a very dangerous program which could threaten the entire humanity. That’s why they were trying to detroy the Cortex.
Tyron thinks it’s a trick to make him shut down his machine and, not believing them one second, laughs at them by sending Ninjas. (Episode 16 Confusion)
One day, one of the virtual avatars, a young girl with pink hair, contacts his wife. She introduces herself as Aelita, Franz and Anthea’s daughter. Tyron cuts furiously the contact after catching their conversation. (Episode 20 : Espionage)
But the fate is with the professor. Some time later, his research center is contacted by a teenager who myteriously obtained their telephone number and said being interrested in quantum physics. Tyron thinks he found one of the teenagers who’re invading the Cortex. But after questionning her, he understands she never touched a Spercomputer in her whole life (well actually…). Tyron tries a last thing and shows to the young girl (who’s Laura but amnesic) the avatars of the Lyoko-Warriors, asking her if she knows them. Laura answers that they look like « caricature of Jeremy Belpois’s group ». (Episode 24 : Temporal Paradox)
Tyron knows enough. With the name, he can find Kadic. He knows his foes are about to send a virus in his machine and wants to stop them. He also knows that one of the teenagers is his wife’s daughter. He makes the latter recording a video message, asking Aelita to go live with them in Switzerland. He then takes the medallion and goes to Kadic.. He meets Delmas who calls Aelita in his office. He then reveals to her that he’s her stepfather. He gives her the medallion and Anthea’s message. Then, once alone with her, he blackmails her : if she wants to see her mother again, she must not send the virus on the Cortex’s Supercomputer.
But suprisingly, Aelita refuses and escapes. Tyron fails to find her back and calls his staff, ordering them to shut down the machine. They do it just in time, as the virus is in the computer but not yet active. Tyron then goes home in Switzerland… but he hasn’t said his last words yet.
